As 2018 draws to a close, a number of us are planning our kidlit craft investments for 2019. I have decided to enroll in The Children Book Academy’s ‘The Craft & Business of Writing Children’s Picture Books’ for a SECOND time – yes, I think it’s THAT good.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, the class is run by Clearfork Publishing/Spork Editor and Art Director Dr. Mira Reisberg and Random House/ Knopf Assoc. Editor Kelly Delaney. The course is known for setting writers and illustrators up for success. Former Children’s Book Academy students have gone on to publish over 240 children’s books and have won just about every North American kidlit award.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced author or illustrator – this course holds value for all who enroll. The 5-week time-flexible interactive course hand holds you through everything you could possibly want to know about picture books. At the end of the course you will have the unique opportunity to pitch your manuscript to some of the industries top agents and editors.
The course starts on January 7th and I would love to see your friendly faces there with me. For more info, click here.
